India's Badminton Star
Saina Nehwal has been recommended for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award
by two specially-constituted committees headed by India's athletics
legend P.T. Usha.
Saina's was obviously the
best choice as she had won the three consecutive titles last year during
2009 at the Indonesian Open (2009) at Jakarta, Syed Modi Grand Prix
(2009) and World Junior Title (2009).
She had recently climbed
to No. 2 in world rankings following three major International Titles in
a row at Chennai, Singapore and Indonesia.
The awards shall be
presented on August 29, 2010.
